WHAT DO I NEED TO ASSEMBLE KITS?
Most of our kits only require that you have a low heat soldering iron, rosin core solder & clippers. More advanced kits require a multi-meter. Other items that may be useful are de-solder wick, pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers. All kits come with assembly instructions except kits with part code beginning with FK. You must be able to identify components to put FK kits together.
WHAT SKILL LEVEL IS REQUIRED?
BEGINNER = Most MINI KITS
are simple to build and understand. Suitable for absolute beginners. Require soldering iron, cutters, pliers, wire-strippers and possibly a screwdriver.
GENERAL = Kits with low component count but may require some test gear, usually a multi-meter and may require setting-up or testing.
ADVANCED = Require a fairly high level of skill in construction. May require some specialized test gear and/or quite complex setting-up.
EXPERT = Complex in construction or require complex wiring. Require a high level of skill or require specialized test gear.
HOW DO I IDENTIFY RESISTORS?
IF MY KIT DOES NOT WORK, WHAT DO I DO?
First check ALL of your components for proper placement, polarity. Even the most experienced assembler can make mistakes placing components.
Next check all your solder connections. 95% of the kits that come back for diagnosis and repair have faulty soldering.
Then using your multi-meter, check your power at all the different points. If an IC is not getting power it is not going to work. Insure that voltage readings are sufficient at all critical points.
If your kit still does not work please call the technical help line: 1 613 544 6333 and have your Order ID number ready. If the kit needs to be shipped in for diagnosis and repair We ask that you pay for the postage to send it back and for replacement parts if needed. If the kit is faulty due to manufacturing defect, the kit will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Please note that this does not happen very often. These kits are proven designs and have been well tested before entering the market. We do not provide refunds on partially or fully assembled kits.
Unassembled kits may be returned for refund if purchased
within the last 30 days. 15% restocking fee applies to all goods purchased
from QKits Ltd. Shipping will not be refunded. Kits returned to QKits Ltd.
partially or fully assembled do not qualify for refund. In the event that
an incomplete kit is returned (missing parts) QKits Ltd. reserves the right
to refuse refund. No returns or refunds on Special order items. Special
order items refer to an assembled and/or modified kit and/or ordered specially for you.
Components cannot be returned due to the static sensitive nature of product.
The customer must contact Qkits Ltd to receive an RMA number and return instructions before
returning any goods. Goods returned without an RMA number do not qualify
DO I GET A DISCOUNT IF I ORDER SEVERAL KITS?
Yes, we do offer quantity discounts when you order quantities of 10, 50, 100, 1000, etc. The discounts for 10+ and 50+ are automatically applied when you place your order.

WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING OPTIONS AVAILABLE?

UPS Worldwide Expedited = 2 day service.
UPS Worldwide Express = overnight. for packs destined to the US and weighing less than 3 pounds.
The UPS fuel surcharge is changing on a weekly basis. This fee is included in these freight fees.
UPS Standard Ground Service. Please check the shipping page for time in transit. Please add 1 business day to the time schedule.
Canadian orders will be shipped by United Parcel Service. In most cases our UPS domestic ground rate is normally the same or less than the Canada Post rate.
UPS Expedited = 2 day service and Express = overnight is also available for Canadian destinations.
Canadian shipping prices and transit times vary depending on your location. For example: Shipments to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal take 1 business day.
Shipments to Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver take 4 - 6 business days
We prefer UPS since the packages are trackable, completely insured and have proof of delivery.
For those who request postal service, we accept no responsibility for the length of delivery time or any loss of packages.
Orders from outside North America will ship by UPS Worldwide Express, Express Saver and Worldwide Expedited. Orders worth less than $60.00 may go by Regular Air Mail if specified in the Comments box during the ordering process.
At the moment you have to specially request kits be assemble if an assembled version is not available in the on-line catalog.
Kit assembly and testing starts at $10 and goes up depending on the amount of labor required.
WILL ANY OTHER CHARGES BE INCURRED?
If you are importing goods from outside your own country, there may be customs brokerage and/or duty charges. If you chose Express or Expedited service, the brokerage charge is included but there may be a small disbursement fee levied by UPS.
Shipments destined to the USA with a value of $200 or greater are subject to brokerage charge if UPS Ground is chosen.
If you chose UPS 3 Day Select, Expedited or Express the brokerage charge is included but there may be a small disbursement fee upon delivery.
Every country has their own import charge rate. It is a good idea to contact your government to find out exactly how much you will be charged for the goods you wish to import. Make sure you have the following information before your contact your government:
